Annual Art Competition

2011 Eat-Your-Veggies Art Competition

A year ago, we held our first annual Art Competition. This year, we asked third through fifth grade students in the local schools to create a veggie character and to tell us why veggies are good for you. A mix of fifty students from the St. Helena Elementary School, St. Helena Catholic School, St. Helena Montessori School, and The Young School submitted entries.

Grand Prize Winner With so many talented kids, it was really tough to select winners, but we finally did. The winners artwork is on display at the market’s General Store. We are also selling the new line of Eat-Your-Veggies gear—aprons, hats, totes, T-shirts, infant bibs and "onesies" — that feature the grand prize-winner’s art. Fifth grader, Peter, from St. Helena's Montessori School is the 2011 Grand Prize Winner. We loved his Tomato Man and think you will too.

In addition to visiting the entries displayed at the General Store, you can see the winners in the gallery below. Thank you to all the students who participated and to all of the parents and teachers who supported and encouraged the young artists! See you at the Market. Click images to view.
