2012 “Bumper Sticker” Art Competition

Last year we asked our talented Grade 3 through 5 artists to create a Bumper Sticker that consisted of original artwork in the form of a character (animal, vegetable, fruit, child, adult etc) and a slogan that encourages kids to eat fruits and vegetables. In addition they were asked to answer a number of questions that focused their attention on healthy eating. Sixty students from the St. Helena Elementary School, St. Helena Catholic School, St. Helena Montessori School, and The Young School submitted entries.

Our artists did such a great job that it was very difficult to decide the final Grand Prize Winner. So much so that in the end we decided to appoint two Grand Prize Winners this year - St. Helena Catholic School’s third grader, Daphne’s “Go Green Characters” and St.Helena Monterssori School’s third grader, Billy’s “Rocking Veggies”. Their artwork will adorn the expanded line of adult, youth, and toddler apparel and merchandise. And we just couldn’t resist, St. Helena Catholic School, fourth grader Stephanie’s adorable “Yummy Bunny/Carrot” artwork which will be featured on infant apparel. Stephanie was 2nd Runner Up for Grade 4.

Grand Prize Winners:

All of the participant’s artwork will be displayed at the market’s General Store throughout the season so do make sure you stop by.

We offer a very big thank you to all the students who participated and to all of the parents and teachers who supported and encouraged the young artists!.
